RPG2 (2001)

The second Roleplay God ran at rp-god.com/02 in June and July 2001. David P. owned it, Kenny ("eXstaZe") designed the site, and 128 characters were drawn into four brackets of 32. On 5 July, during the fourth round, David P. gave the tournament up and K. took it over and finished it. The winner was Michael Trey of the East bracket.

How it ran

• Format: four regional brackets, North, South, East and West, each with its own roleplay board. Each bracket's winner went into a finals section, where North met West and East met South; the final opened on 23 July 2001.
• Matches: up to three roleplays per handler per match, one a day, with the deadline at noon (CST) on the day of the card (the rules, below). Judges e-mailed their picks after each deadline; the third round's results were announced in the site's chatroom on 30 June.
• Prize: David P. had offered $250, which went with him when he stepped down. K. offered a full website design, and the owner of RwC added $50 (news, 5 July).
• The change of owner: on 5 July David P. posted that he was retiring from the tournament because of "the whining, hack threats and AIM situations". K. took over the same day. When only one judge sent in picks for the fourth round, K. made them himself with three others (news, 7 July).
• The result: on 28 July the site was "waiting on one judge's pick for our RPGod winner". By 23 September 2001 the front page showed the image above.

The final four

The finals section and its roleplays have not been located, and nor have the North and South boards. The East board shows Michael Trey as its last roleplayer (13 July). The West board's last round was between Canadas Hero and Caged Explosion; which of them went through has not been located. The site's news of 19 July says Jack Lundin "weighed in on the finals board". Who Michael Trey met in the final has not been located.

Dave W: Dave runs the GCWO. http://www.ewznet.com/gcwo. It's a great fed, check it out. Dave's had plenty of success and is a perfect candidate for the job.

Dominik L.: He's current CEO of ASW which will open soon, I will be staffing in that federation also. He wrestles as Jonny Trip, he meets the requirements. He's what we need, another solid judge.

Mick P.: Mick P. isn't as well known as some of these other judges, but fits in just perfectly. He's owned a fed and has won numerous amounts of titles with his wrestler. He seems like a good candidate, honest & trustworthy, and a nice guy.

Extremist: Very known wrestler from DWF. He's currently going after the Dream Title and has judged DWF roleplays in the past. A friendly guy, a great judge.

Paul V.: Paul V. is a pretty big man in the wrestling community. He writes for EWN and other sites and rans an up and coming hit, the ECWF. He's a great person and will be a great judge. To check out ECWF, go to http://www.ecwfca.com.

Rock Startling: Rock was a former NNW World Champion, he's a well known wrestler and a friend of mine who will get the job done.

Joe P.: Joe currently VP's within the confines of the ECWF. He's a hard worker and will definently be able to do this job.

eXstaZe: eXstaZe has been helping me out a lot with Roleplay God. He's ran the oWa and has wrestled himself. He's a top candidate for this type of job.

Painkiller: Painkiller currently runs the Five Star Wrestling Federation. He's an excellent owner and is an honest and decent man. To check out his federation, go to http://www.thefsw.com.

Ron M.: Ron Owns PCW, I dont know him much, but he's also judging in 64x2 and runs an up and coming amazing fed. To check out his federation, go to http://efedpcw.homestead.com.

Jamie M.: Jamie owns EWZnet, an up and coming resource and hosting site. Jamie was nice enough to affiliate with me and we have both become good friends. To check out his site, go to http://www.ewznet.com.

David P.: I own Roleplay God. I believe this is the best tournament on the net and looking forward to judging your roleplays. I will be honest & trustworthy like I was last time.

Josh G.: Also known as Mike Mustang, Josh has wrestled most his life, taking staff positions in federations and what not. He meets the qualifications and I know he'll do a great job in the tournament.

Johnny Mayhem: You all know him. The original Roleplay God. A great person, a great wrestler and a dedicated judge.

Dave M.: Dave works with the FWF. He's seen plenty of excellent roleplays. Roleplay God will be no different for him.

Rules

These are some simple rules that should be followed during your stay in Roleplay God.

1. In all fairness it's an unbiased decision that each handler has three chances to roleplay per match. We feel that by doing this it will make each handler spend more time on the roleplay thus putting more effort into it. The quality should be better in which will turn out to be more quantity, although quantity is not a major factor in the judges decision.

2. Each handler is allowed to post one roleplay a day. This rule helps each handler out by not letting there opponent post three roleplays within a ten minute time period. If you do this, one roleplay will count and the others posted will be discarded. We suggest you roleplay every other day for your match.

3. The Roleplay deadline is at noon(CST) the day of each card and will be watched carefully. If you post a roleplay after this time it will not count and will be deleted abruptly!

4. If there is any contact between judges and handlers in where the handler tries to get the judge to give them a higher grade on a roleplay so they win or anything of this matter, that handler/wrestler will be dropped from the tournament, there perspective opponent will thus get a very easy win.

With that said we will stay strict to these rules and go by them as will handlers as much as possible. If you hear, see (yea right), or know of anyone cheating to get ahead in a game especially this one, please contact anyone of the judges/staff members of the Roleplay God tournament immediately. We are trying to make this as fun as possible and cheating is not acceptable within this tournament.

Still the mor-ons spout off on the fan forum, for some real fun log in there and laugh your ass off. Plenty of people hate me, they say I suck, give the tourny back to P. or better yet, shut it down. Well I have one question for those fucks: What about the guys that have worked to get this far? What about them? They're the reason I agreed to take this place. Why? Because these four remaining guys, whether they hate me or not, deserve to find out who's gonna win this. They have worked to get where they are at. They deserve to have a resolution, not some full text page from the owner of this tourny explaining why he folded under the pressure of a few idiots with far too much time on their hands. Well, go on, make P. your martyr. Make him mean something. Make him the god and the story here. You'll notice I've left the fan board alone as much as I could. You'll notice there's been no public comment on this until now. When it all boils down there are four people left here, and they are the story. Not me. Not P.. And for god-damn sure not the little boys who want to whine on our Fan Forum because they couldn't get this far.

So, there ya go, mor-ons. More fuel for your pathetic fire. Run along now, run to the fan forum and twist my words. Hurry, click away and try to become the news story over these four people that deserve it. That's who you are hurting. I put up with people's bullshit everyday. I could careless. The finals section is complete. The flash brackets have been updated. Here I am, once again, proving everyone wrong. Unlike P., I have a job, bills to pay, and a family to spend time with. It's pretty fucking disgusting that I wait 24 hours to post the final four and you guys are screaming that this is dead. I said I'd finish this bitch out, and I'm gonna. We've got one RP since the deadline. I would really like to see everyone RP. The participants that are left have been RPing consistantly, but one since our deadline Saturday is kinda slow. Let's pick it up if we can. The Finals section is coming along nicely and in fact, for the most part, is finished. As soon as we finish this round we'll begin using that area as our main section. Finals section construction... 7.9.2001

I have begun building the RPG2 finals section. The original plan was to make an entire new "mini-site" for the Finals. However, what I've decided to do is to keep the continuity of this site and the feel of RPG2. You'll notice the link to the finals area has been added to the drop down, and a blank page is linked while I finish the graphics and flash for the section. The cgi for the finals are all set and I've come to a decision on what divisions will face eachother to give us our final two competitiors. North will face West and East versus South is how it will shake out. I'll keep you all up-to-date.

Well, the delay was caused because only one judge sent in their picks. So, I then collected a team of voters comprised of Jaysin Styles from RwC, Jon N., Daman Washington from XW, and myself. RPG General News 7.6.2001

I have assurance from the majority of handlers that we will see roleplays from them before the deadline tomorrow at 1pm Central (2pm eastern). We should have little or no controversy leading us into the home stretch, Regional Finals, beginning Saturday night. Great News 7.5.2001

After some long negotiations, the owner of RwC (a site I designed, so I know he's good for the cash) has agreed to put up $50 to the winner of Roleplay God 2. This prize will go along with the full website design I offered earlier. In exchange for the cash he's getting his button on all my posts for the rest of the tourny. A huge "thank you" goes out to RwC owner, Jaysin Styles.

Roleplays 7.5.2001

There have been no roleplays in the south or east since the deadline. If this keeps up, I'll simply move people that are willing to work into the slots left empty by non-workers. That could mean putting people from the West and North into those slots. This action will be a last resort measure, however I have made a commitment to not only keep the current tourny running, but to keep the name Roleplay God alive as well. Well, with little fan-fare I have taken over here at RPGod. P. will remain as a judge here, but I do have the unfortunate task of telling everyone, that when P. stepped down, the $250 prize went with him. roleplay god status.... 7.5.2001

I really don't think I can take this anymore. Throughtout my experience with Roleplay God 2 I've experienced people whining and moaning, people just going off on me on AIM and hack threats. This has gone on and on and on throughout the whole time we've been open. It was a huge mistake to go mainstream with this tournament.

Credit

Many things and people have come together to contribute to the Roleplay God tournament thus far. In respects to those people I feel that credit is due. I've had many handlers join, attempt to join, and think about joining as soon as the tournament started and without the handlers there would be know Roleplay God tournament. The handlers are what make this tournament as good as it really is.

But when you look past the handlers they are themselves fans, and then you actually have fans. I'm sure without fans of eWrestling, there woulnd't be Roleplay God either. As a whole we all deserve credit in the happening of Roleplay God.

Many people think Roleplay God is an idea I thought up and created but in the upmost honest and respect it wasn't my idea but created and thought up by Joshua P.. Giving us version 1.0 of roleplay god was Joshua P. also. He contributed alot to Roleplay God and without him at my side at one time there wouldn't be Roleplay God at all. He is the original creator behind it and I am the man that made it happen. Credit to you Joshua P. for the idea of Roleplay God, one of they best ewrestling tournaments if not they best.

But now, credit has to be given to Kenny, Ken....eXstaZe for the site we are all looking at now. The site looks fantastic and without his hard work and his ability to look past the past I doubt we'd have this site here now and we'd still have the last layout. Thanks to eXstaZe for the layout and time he took to make it.
