Heat. Smog. Heavy traffic. Just another day in Los Angeles, California.

The City of Angels is the home to the Wrestling GOD 3 (hereafter WG3) tournament. 64 talented indivduals will converge on the Great Western Forum in Inglewood. Many are already in the city, making preperations.

Dean Wallace is one of them. The LCW-Evo superstar arrived early in the morning on this day, driving all the way from Tempe, Arizona in order to avoid the world's worst airport: LAX. Currently, he stands outside the LA Coliseum, the massive venue that hosts USC Trojan football, in addition to having hosted the Dodgers, the first Super Bowl, and the 1932 Summer Olympics.

Dean walks slowly. His Oakland Athletics #75 Barry Zito jersey flaps in the ever-so-slight breeze, and his LA Lakers cap does little to shade the sun, as its brim points in the opposite direction. His omnipresent Oakley sunglasses do the work of the hat, not to mention making the 6'3" Wallace look kinda bad-ass.

Without warning, Dean begins to talk in a reserved, even soft tone.

"I always thought Charles Darwin was full of shit, but after taking stock of the twenty-seven years of my life, I think his theory of Social Darwinism might have some merit after all."

"Social Darwinism, for the uninformed, is the theory of survival of the fittest. It was taken from Darwin's believe about nature and wildlife and modified to include us homosapiens. At one point in history, European nations expounded upon Social Darwinism and created the White Man's Burden. This, in turn, lead to all the nations of the world wanting to have it all, which in turn led to a little war known by three simple letters: W, W, I."

Dean continues, the pitter-patter of his feet across the concrete making for a cadence.

"Broken down into its simplest form, the theory states that the man who is smarter, more sophisticated, more evolved than the other man will always come out on top."

"I have found this to be true in just about every aspect of life. As a collegiate baseball player, I discovered there to be a mental advantage that can take you rather far in any walk of life. It's not your standard, cliched, 'believe in yourself!' crap, but rather a constant state of mind."

"In professional wrestling, I have found there to be a physical advantage that more often than not leads to success. It's the ability to change and modify yourself so that the situation you are in always favors yourself."

Dean stops in front of one of the entrances to the Coliseum. The security guard standing by looks on warily, but Dean doesn't notice.

"You have to believe that there is room to evolve. If you don't, you will find yourself sliding into a mental spiral. Self-doubt, lack of self-confidence, lack of self-esteem, and all other manner of bad shit will enter your mind if you allow yourself to think of yourself as merely average."

"Of course, it helps never to have been average. I remain the only 12-letter athlete in Corona del Sol High School history. I remain the NCAA record holder in at least 3 pitching categories, and there might be more."

"Could I have done that had my self-examination after every game I played had been, 'Wow, great job!'? It's highly doubtful, to say the very least."

"When I look in the mirror, I see a man who's belief in his abilities paid his way through college. I see a man who's belief in his abilities got him into professional wrestling. And I see a man who's ability to evolve has made him one of the top 64 professional wrestlers in America."

"Things change. Styles change. I can pretty much guarantee that nobody in this tourney is going to win with a sleeper hold. A flying bodypress isn't going to get anybody into the next round. It's going to take something modern, something evolutionary, to get the job done."

Dean walks towards the gate. He exchanges a few brief words with the guard, and the gates open. Dean wals in, and starts down towards the playing surface.

"Evo is short for Evolution. It is also, incidentally, the federation I wrestle in. The reason for the name is that every single one of us under the employ of Evo knows that to be successful entails taking their games to a level unknown to much of the wrestling world."

"I believe that there is an evolutionary curve in the world. This curve applies to everything in life, including wrestling. As a man excogitates, he moves further and further up the curve."

Dean hops down the barrier and stands on the expansive grass surface of the Coliseum.

"I am Dean Wallace."

"I am at the peak of wrestling's evolutionary curve."

"I am the Prime Example of what a wrestler should be."

Fade to black.
